Trump's businesses take a hit as the brand 'has lost its mojo'

When workers pried the Trump name off another Manhattan building earlier this year, it capped a bad few weeks for the president’s businesses.

Donald Trump’s golf resorts in Scotland had just posted millions of dollars in losses, one of his hotels in Panama had rebranded itself a Marriott MAR, -1.26% , and New York officials announced they were looking into how he avoided paying tens of millions in taxes.

All that, along with the daily drumbeat of Trump tweets and headlines about investigations into his administration, led Austin, Texas, tech executive Gary Barrett to finally give up hope of ever turning a profit on an apartment he bought as an investment in a Trump tower in Las Vegas.

“People with enough cash to buy these units seem to be shying away from the Trump name,” says Barrett, calling it “the Trump effect.”

From golf fees and licensing deals to prices for Trump condos, many metrics used to gauge his business in the first two years of his presidency are down as the divisive comments and policies so beloved by his political base have turned off a group just as dear to him — the affluent who fuel his businesses.

if foreign countries weren't bribing him and buying favors by staying in his places when they come calling!

The emoluments clause, also called the foreign emoluments clause, is a provision of the U.S. Constitution (Article I, Section 9, Paragraph 8) that generally prohibits federal officeholders from receiving any gift, payment, or other thing of value from a foreign state or its rulers, officers, or representatives.

Of course, the Repugs never bothered to consider this because they didn't want to offend their "leader."

But oh, my, January 3 is the start of a new game - and I'm betting this is one of the items on the list of things to "look into!"

exposed what New Yorkers have known all along. He's a scam artist and terrible businessman. That reality show image of him as a mogul is not reality.

That fake image is what fueled his hotels and resorts for years. Now that people know what a fool he is, once he's finally booted out of the WH he won't have a business to go back to if he avoids jail.

Woohoo!

We told them. We told them how reviled he is in NYC. We told them about his lies, deceit, and outright thievery. People in Florida told them how despised he is there as well. No one would listen. They believed his lies and braggadocio. They believed that bull-squat about him being a "self-made man". I suppose some people just need to be lied to. Besides....Hillary's emails.

Then you had some who thought that stupid TV show was real.
Many of the latter had their eyes opened, people like us never bought in, and the other 20% are still gullible drones.

Hell, they might all be doing time because of the fake trump foundation. And the new NY state AG is chomping at the bit to go after the lot of them.
