How many people are unaccounted for before this release? Someone is hiding something.

(67,782 posts)....to the local Psychiatric Hospital, Creedmore on Long Island, to visit the children (in full uniform). I asked why there were so many children there, as the administrators said that around the holidays parents bring their children there to essentially "get them out of the way" during the holidays.
It was heartbreaking, but the children were thrilled to see us, especially in uniform. They felt special that "soldiers" (I was a Seaman) were visiting them.
As sad as it was, it was fun too, bringing a little bit of cheer and diversion into their lives.

I know it's been a long year. Sometimes it feels like it will never end. But as long as this Administration makes it a point of warped pride to treat these parents like criminals and run baby jails for their children, it's up to us to represent this nation's better angels

(67,782 posts)ICE drops off large group of migrants at El Paso bus terminal, police say
Source: CNN
(CNN)Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers dropped off more than 200 undocumented immigrants outside a Greyhound bus terminal in El Paso, Texas, on Sunday night without an apparent plan for housing them, according to Sgt. Robert Gomez, spokesman with the El Paso Police Department.
Police were first notified of the crowd at about 8 p.m. by officials at the bus terminal, who said individuals were trying to board buses without tickets.
"All of a sudden a bunch of people show up; ICE drops them off," said Greyhound spokeswoman Crystal Booker. "We weren't expecting it. We are not given prior notice."
The waiting area at the bus terminal is small, Gomez said, and many people were left standing outside in the cold. He said the group of 211 undocumented immigrants included some families and small children.

(1,336 posts)the town of Gander (pop. 6,000) took in and cared for over 7,000 stranded airline passengers for several days. Hoping El Paso can do the same thing for these unfortunate immigrants.

(67,782 posts)...they need the whole thing.
I also donate a couple of hundred bucks to our local "Foodshare" program that distributes fresh produce and food to people twice a month. They do so in one of our parks in town. $200 buys FIVE HUNDRED meals. That's really amazing, and so worthwhile.
It's sad seeing a couple of hundred people lined up just to get food. This is AMERICA, people shouldn't have to go hungry in this day and age!
