My modest proposal for Speaker Pelosi

1) Separate the border security part from the continuing resolution and send a clean CR to the Senate to pay for the end of the year. Keep passing it every day until signed into law or passed over veto.

2) Pass the $ 1.3 Billion for additional border security measures with zero for additional wall structure. Dare him to veto it.

3) No meetings or staged shows at the White House. Instead (because Trump really just wants to be on TV) invite Trump to testify at the House DHS Committee to make his case about the wall and answer questions on the wall DACA, TPS, Asylum Policy including Family Separation and Return of Vietnamese Refugees.

4) Propose a one time, take it or leave it offer, to approve funding of the wall up to $ 10 Billion on the non negotiable condition that the 2017 tax reductions on corporations and the wealthiest 20% be reversed at a rate of $ 100 Billion revenue exchanged in reverse tax rates for every $ 1 Billion allocated for the wall.

You want $ 5 Billion on a useless wall then raise $ 500 Billion that is stipulated for health care, education and food stamps for the working poor.

Of course he won't agree to any of it but it will frame the issue a to show that. He isn't really committed to the issue beyond a PR scam.

Most importantly don't give him any WH meetings that he will use for more dishonest PR framing, just keep sending proposals that under cut his BS.

The wall is toxic to people, critters, and relationships between the two countries. We shouldn't be spending a penny on it - even if it is in trade for things we want. Agreeing to a wrong in excange for a right just makes us as corrupt as Trump is.

The issue is framing not an actual agreement because

1) the Republicans would rather sell their first born than agree to 1 trillion in taxes on the rich

2) Trump will never agree to testify either.

The point is to frame the issue in a way that continues to paint Trump into a corner.

#4 - Propose a one time, take it or leave it offer, to approve funding of the wall up to $ 10 Billion

$10 billion + 1.3 billion = $11.3 billion.

and your reasoning is the same kind that got us Trump in the first place. Do you know how many Democrats hoped Trump would be the primary winner because it would create a landslide for the Democratic candidate? Don't propose/wish things that would be unacceptable if the bluff is called. $11.3 billion for a wall is unacceptable, regardless of what is won if they call our bluff.

Enhancements that existed in 2018 and that Pelosi and Schumer already agreed to. Nothing for the wall.

The Republicans would never agree to $ 1 trillion for additional taxes on the rich which would fund $ 995 million in health education and investment in the poor on a YEARLY basis for a lousy 5 billion one time funding of a small part of a wall.

The bluff as you call it that would add a Trillion of Revenue by taxing the rich is a deal Democratic legislators would take in a New York minute but Republicans would, unfortunately never accept.
