Oh FFS... Ryan voted for the 2008 Stimulus Act

Of course he voted for the wars and other budget-busting Bush nonsense. That's to be expected. But how does the supposed most principled anti-Keynesian in the world vote to send everyone a check for $300 to stimulate the economy?

Seems rather a waste of money for something you "know" cannot possibly work.

Government debt-funded direct stimulus was effective economic policy in February, 2008. By January, 2009 it was an insane communist doctrine that had never worked and never could work as it ran counter to everything "we" know about economics.

At least I know my first debate question for the VP debate if I'm called to fill-in at the last moment.

"Representative Ryan, if President Obama proposed stimulating the economy by borrowing money in order to send every American tax-filer a check for $300, would you vote for that? And I do have a follow-up question...

Since the checks went only to tax-filers one could tell himself that they were a retroactive tax cut.

Anything that does not benefit the indigent is a tax cut... it's magic.
