Is This Really About the Wall? Or Is This an Attack on Fed Workers?

Democrats will never fund the wall. Ever. So what does Trump, the man who would have used the crucifixation as a way to make money (“Get your Jesus tears here!”) stand to gain from a protracted federal shutdown that he can not possibly “win”?

Who loses when the government is shutdown? Federal workers. Unionized federal workers. Especially federal workers whose jobs are essential meaning have to go to work each day without getting paid. They do not have the option of getting temp work. They are stuck. If the shut down goes on long enough some will be forced to quit...

And when enough federal jobs are vacant Trump donors can then step in and offer to “privatize.” We could see the airlines take over air traffic control. Coal fired Plants could get paid to monitor their own pollution. Construction sites would be able to decide for themselves what is safe for their workers. And each time a federal safety agency gets co-opted by the federal industry it is supposed to regulate, we will have a situation very like the fox guarding the hen house—and getting paid by the chickens to do it.

Democrats need to mobilize their own wealthy donors. We need to come up with cash to help our union brothers and sisters weather this Trump manufactured storm.

Wanna be autocrats derive their hold over their base by dominance signaling.

Appearing weak is an autocrat’s kryptonite. That’s why DJT is fighting and it’s why Dems should force him to say uncle.

This shutdown comes with the added benefit for the GOP that it harms the govt.

workers should be just fired as non-essential, and that small gov. was good. Now, I surely hope that was a joke. It's hard to tell with this guy, he's so damn demented.

Their beliefs, their policies have all been proven wrong, they are twisted, delusional and self destructive and they don't care. I used to be a federal worker. It was like working in an insane asylum.
