3. except that that statement flies in the face of this article. Infusions of money from elsewhere

have an impact. Obviously these were local candidates, but nobody should pretend that big money and influence it wields is overshadowed simply by local popularity. Money is a kingmaker. It decides what local faces and voices are privileged in the local and national media.

4. What I got out of the article is that good candidates get lots of money

from people from other states. For example, I live in New Mexico but I donated money to Candidates from California, Texas, Georgia and Florida. So did a ton of other Democrats.

Politics is local now.
