John Kelly Admits Trump Doesn't Really Want to Build a 'Wall'

By Leo Vidal at Politicus USA

"SNIP....

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly told The Los Angeles Times that the Trump administration no longer wants to build a wall along the southern U.S. border with Mexico.

“To be honest, it’s not a wall,” Kelly told the Times, and then added:

“The president still says ‘wall’ — oftentimes frankly he’ll say ‘barrier’ or ‘fencing,’ now he’s tended toward steel slats. But we left a solid concrete wall early on in the administration, when we asked people what they needed and where they needed it.”

The former Marine general also admitted that Customs and Border Protection Agents told him during his tenure as Homeland Security secretary that they really don’t want a wall. They said they do need physical barriers in some areas, but expressed a desire for new technology and additional personnel as a primary emphasis for improved border security.

He's painted himself into a corner and there's no way out.

So he has to keep insisting that he wants to build a wall.

I don't think anyone in Congress has an issue with sensible border security. But he made it about a beautiful concrete wall, or a steel wall with points on it, or some other kind of wall, and the answer to that is, go fuck yourself.

Border security means much more than barriers at borders.

Since 2/3 of illegal immigrants are those who have overstayed their visas, perhaps the place to start is with visa issuance.

And since most illegal drugs are not carried by illegal immigrants climbing walls, perhaps the place to start is with more scrutiny of shipments by cars, boats, planes, and trucks.

And since many border crossing illegal immigrants or asylee are escaping violence in their home countries, perhaps the best place to start (again and again and again, as we have for decades, only to repeatedly screw things up) with foreign aid in Guatemala, El Salvador, and elsewhere.

These are things that sensible people should be evaluating and considering.

Alas, if that were only possible.

Trump will say that Kelly is a liar and was a lazy CoS.

That'll be the tell that Kelly's telling the truth.

I'm sure he would be back on calling for a wall after democrats took power, but Ann Coulter called him on the carpet in a column, reminding him that most of his base elected him because he had promised a wall, and if he didn't deliver on it, he would go down in history as the most hated president ever (he still will) so he changed course back to demanding funding for a wall to mollify them.

Plus, Trump is a very... tactile (?) kind of egotist. He doesn't want a legacy where he helped people, actually made the country safer, etc. He loves things he can put his name on - buildings, golf courses, hotels, etc. He thinks that's the only way to have a legacy. He may not be able to put Trump in neon letters at the top of this wall of his, but he knows that people would remember that it was "his" wall.

he met with president dumfuck and exclaimed afterwards publicly -

"The wall is a metaphor for border security".

Seems they are pivoting toward trumpie saving face ass the new strategy.

They are well aware of January 3rd.

Russia builds 37-mile wall around annexed Crimea territory

How do you say “build the wall” in Russian?

Russia has built a 37-mile fence between Ukraine and Crimea, the territory that Russia annexed in 2014, according to Russian media.

The move was necessary “to protect the local population from the crazy antics of the current Ukrainian government,” claimed a spokesman for the de facto Crimean parliament.

Ukrainian authorities are calling the move “mere propaganda.”

More than 10,000 people have been killed in the conflict between Moscow-backed separatists and Ukraine since it touched off in 2014, according to the United Nations.

The European Union has condemned the annexation as a violation of international law.

How sad it must be to live a white-supremacist’s life— forever enraged, and never pacified or fulfilled.

I urge ALL Trumpists to emigrate to Russia. They’ll LOVE it there! No caving in to “lib’ruls” with Putin! MRGA! 🇷🇺
