Not the person who you like, but who can win.
Win. Win. Win.
The best Dem may or may not be able to win.
Who...can...win?
I just want to win. 🤔

(182,632 posts)The Dem nominee in 2008 was clearly going to win. W had been exposed as a liar (though MSM couldn't say it) and the GOP was as close to dissolving as it's ever been. The economic collapse was the final nail.
I think whomever is the nominee will definitely be the favorite even though we are mostly in a two term phase in this country. A stolen election is a major concern given the suppressive mechanism that have been put in place BUT we have a few things that can counter that:
Incredible anti-Trump sentiment especially in "the middle"
Incredible turnout exhibiting the above going back to the Virginia elections in 2017 and into the midterms this year
Large number of state seats that flipped which could turn into overhauling a lot of the voter suppression measures taken over the last 10 years.
if we can combat the voter suppression, we win.

(2,897 posts)No one is going to go in an instant winner and whatever damaging oppo there is won't really be known until they become the candidate and the GOP drops it.
The primary requires that they build a good campaign/fundraise and if they're able to hone a message and these last 2 Trump years are as hellish as the first, they should be able to beat him.

All the big names have a shot.
