Luntz Warns GOP: 'A War Is About To Break Out Within This Primary Field'
Published: January 04, 2012

by Sam Sanders

At Ron Paul's caucus night event in Ankeny, Iowa, most of his supporters were celebrating. Paul finished a strong third in Tuesday night's caucuses.

But one man in the crowd — famed Republican strategist Frank Luntz — was much more concerned with what happens next.

"I think over the next 24 to 48 hours the campaign's gonna get a little bit meaner, a little darker, and a little bit more personal, as the candidates now fight for their life," said Luntz, who spoke with NPR in between television appearances Tuesday night.

For Luntz, the lack of a clear GOP front-runner will make for a protracted primary season that could drag on through April. And he says it won't be pretty: "Republicans are not gonna like what's about to happen. ... I think a war is about to break out within this primary field."

Maybe we can bring 'em a covered dish or something.

You have four big egos headed into two big primaries in the next four weeks...and at least two are not gonna survive. And that doesn't include Huntsman who could also be an irritant. This election is getting personal...very personal in a world where hate and venom flow in abundance. The long festering divisions in this corrupt party have been glossed over for a long time and now they're starting to take at toll. No matter who wins, it's a shallow one as there will be a lot of sore losers. This is especially the case for Mittens. The longer he fights with Frothy and Gnewt and piss off the fundies and teabaggers the harder it will be for him to get them on board in November. Then there's the Paulbots who will quietly gather convention delegates and be enough of an irritant to keep this demolition derby interesting for months to come. Too bad we lose a couple of clowns this week...

Romney will take New Hampshire.

Santorum has got to win either South Carolina or Florida to remain viable.

Paul will continue to be a third place or lower finisher.

Gingrich will continue on the slim hope that those three will eat each other leaving him the last one standing.

wearing his shit eating grin. I am guessing he is guessing which way the fire is coming from so that he can duck down and scamper to safety. What he doesn't realize is that no one is attacking him because he is not a threat.
