We are doing well with the "low information" voter, judging by my experiences this week.

After *bush stole the 2000 election, I started a new level of activism approaching the 2004 election. No use talking to management. I discussed which judge, which amendment with my dem buddies in management (few here in N. Fla). I talked with the clerical staff, many very religious (evangelical types that I have grown up with and know their minds very well) and anyone else I might turn. One person, call her Cathy, I spoke to, and said I was afraid they were going to steal the election. Her whole face clouded up into a look of horror, with a touch of surprise at my lunacy. She said, all sad trying to reassure me, "They wouldn't do that." I am pretty sure she was a *bush-lover. So I never encouraged her to vote. In 2008, I convinced several african-americans to vote for the very first time. I spoke to the custodian of our building, call her Christina. She is a single mother, working very hard for low wages. She brushed me off, said "I never vote. I don't have time to pay any attention. I don't have time to go vote."

Last week, Cathy came to my office and said "I just can't vote for Romney. He is nothing like me." I got the feeling these people can see the genuine human being who could care about them when they see Obama. They don't drink beer. i gave her a rant, and she was nodding her head.
Christina meanwhile had friended me on facebook last year. We don't have a lot in common other than our humanity. She came in this past week to empty the wastebasket. She said "I notice you post a lot of things about Obama on FB. Are you trying to be funny, or do you like Obama?" I said "Oh hell, yes! I like Obama." She started in on a rant, completely informed about Romney, Obama, the plight of the poor under republic plans. She asked why I thought republics who are sometimes nice people, work so hard to disenfranchise the poor. I told her they listen to Fox and Rush all day telling them that they are working hard and paying a lot of taxes so lazy people on welfare, refuse to work and are getting government checks. Lazy moochers. She got red in the face and told me there is no welfare. She said her husband left her with a pre-school child. He kept breaking in the house while she was at work, stole her washing machine and dryer, etc. She had nothing and was desparate. She went to apply for services and was told she would have to be enrolled in college classes, and something else. I don't remember. She is totally on board. i think the primary clown show and the long election season is getting to some people. Others not so much.

These are 2 very hard cases, low information people, who have changed since 2004. Very low information, like North Florida low.
