Gather 'Round For Another Lesson In Women's Rights & Health Issues from the GOP

Get ready for some cold, hard science facts.

Republican Senate Nominee Todd Akin Explains That Women Don’t Really Get Pregnant From ‘Legitimate Rape’

Rep. Todd Akin, the Republican nominee for Senate in Missouri, doesn't think abortion in the case of rape is really an issue. That's because he has it on good authority that women don't get pregnant from "legitimate rape" anyway.

First of all, from what I understand from doctors [pregnancy from rape] is really rare. If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.

The nonsense term "legitimate rape" aside, this claim is based on the belief that the female body won't let itself become pregnant during a rape, I guess because the women don't want to have a baby?

Frankly I don't see how some of these idiots make it through the

talking about women's health and/or making laws about women's health, you have to pass a basic 8th grade bio class. Otherwise you are NOT allowed to have a thought about our girly bits.

Mr. Akin has no business running for the Senate. We taxpayers will then be required to pay an even bigger salary for this idiot.

...and what the hell is a "legitimate rape?"
