Rand Paul's face last night...

did anyone else notice him standing behind his father last night? His face was stone. He didn't smile or clap or react at all while his father was speaking. It was creepy, actually a little scarey. Rachel M. remarked on it.

I've never seen any readable expression on his face other than a smile or a non smile.

that basically suggested they would destroy Rand's future options if Ron were to go Libertarian... There had been a running rumor (now discounted) that Gary Johnson had dropped out of his run for the Libertarian ticket and was endorsing Paul instead. That has since proven to have been a hoax, but perhaps Karl Rove's "enforcer" paid a visit prior to the event.

the kid's political future goes into the dump. I forget what cable yakker said this, that the dear old dad would *not* do this to his son.

The facial expression might mean that Dad hasn't ruled things out and Rachel said that Ron lasted the previous primaries all the way to June even without *this* much encouragement.
