Today we had the dumbphuck Congressman Todd Akin expressing his belief in "legitimate rape".
And two weeks ago a vague, state-wide measure passed that allows Missouri public school students the right to refuse ANY coursework that conflicts with their religious beliefs!
It just goes to show you that STYOO-pidity can be contagious. Watch out Nebraska! Beware Oklahoma. You've been warned, Colorado. The STYOO-pidity infecting Kansas may be seeing into your state soon.

(1,016 posts)The right wing rich have always manipulated voters into voting for their personal causes by running establishment candidates. Now they have lost control of their supporters who really believe that nonsense. Bush's administration were caught laughing behind their backs of the stupidity of the Christian right. It is the Christian right who now run their own candidate.

(34,179 posts)This comment by Akin probably sealed his fate and he will lose in the fall. There's a reason why McCaskill ran ads promoting him as the most conservative of the bunch. She knew that would get him into the primary, and that he would do stupid stuff like this during the campaign season.
As far as Amendment 2 goes, it is already headed to the courts, and hopefully will be struck down there.
