A pretzel in the rain...

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have both changed their positions in recent days. Romney is well-known for his flip-flopping but it was rather surprising to see that Ryan has done the same, with the stimulus and Medicare being the most recent examples.

After a while, they twist and distort their positions so much that nobody knows where they stand on any given issue, not even themselves. They are like a pretzel that has been lying in the rain. Nobody can recognize its original form. It is just wet and soggy, without substance.

Perhaps this is not the best analogy?
