....that when they take a poll after this gaffe in Missouri, Akin will still be leading?
I have no faith in the willingly stupid anymore. "Sure, he said something stupid....BUT IT'S A WOMAN AND A DEMOCRAT....I AIN'T VOTIN' FOR HER AND HER OBAMA LOVIN'!!!" will be the refrain.

OP
IMO, if he stays in the race then a poll taken a week from now he'll be trailing.

It will take a few days to get the news out to the majority of folks then a few days for a poll to be taken.
So, I would say a poll a week from now will be more accurate than a poll that might come out in only a few days from now.

(36,974 posts)3. That will be too early. Lots of folks won't hear the news by the time the poll is taken. n/t

(50,130 posts)4. well, they only have two days to replace him on the ballot...
...under MO law. That's a wrinkle for them.

(36,974 posts)5. Well if they take a poll now and it shows he is still winning ...
then they might want to keep him in the race, which will be good for McCaskill because then she can campaign against him.
She wants him to be her opponent.
If he drops out before Tuesday at 5pm then the GOP can replace him and then McCaskill will have a tougher time of it.
Polls a week from now will probably show him losing and that will be too late for a replacement.
It will be interesting to see how this works out.
