Let's Use Clear Language: Paul Ryan Doesn't Believe Rape Victims Have Rights

The Romney Campaign can put out any statement they want, but it won't counter Paul Ryan's stance on Women's Rights. And that stance is exactly the same as Todd Akin's.

Ryan's stance on Women's Rights must be exposed for all to see in the light of day.

From Think Progress:

http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/08/19/712251/how-todd-akin-and-paul-ryan-partnered-to-redefine-rape/

By Ian Millhiser on Aug 19, 2012 at 5:11 pm

Earlier today, Missouri U.S. Senate candidate Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) claimed that “legitimate rape” does not often lead to pregnancy because “the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.” This is not the first time the biologically challenged senate candidate tried to minimize the impact of rape. Last year, Akin joined with GOP vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) as two of the original co-sponsors of the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act,” a bill which, among other things, introduced the country to the bizarre term “forcible rape.”
...
Paul Ryan, however, believes that the “forcible rape” language does not actually go far enough to force women to carry their rapist’s baby. Ryan believes that abortion should be illegal in all cases except for “cases in which a doctor deems an abortion necessary to save the mother’s life.” So rape survivors are out of luck.

The article at think progress links to a word doc with excerpts from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal which reported on Ryan's extreme stance on abortion from 1998. However, Rachel Maddow uncovered the same stance in Ryan sponsored legislation as you can see here:

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/rachel-maddow-nails-politifact-on-romneyryan-abortion-stance-without-trying/

As Rachel Maddow pointed out on her show last night, there’s an even more recent version of this legislation than the 2003 example that Politifact cites. It’s HR 212, The Sanctity of Human Life Act, and it was co-sponsored by Rep. Paul Ryan. Given the wrecking ball it takes to 50 years of privacy law, the bill is rather short. See if you can locate the exception for rape and incest:

And if you read the bill, there is no such exception.

Video of Rachel exposing Ryan's extremism at the second link.

Again, The Romney-Ryan campaign cannot distance themselves front the very stance and sponsored legislation of the VP on the ticket. That is what Ryan believes: he believes Women as Rape Victims have no rights. Romney understood this when he chose Ryan as his running mate. So Romney must think these views are acceptable.

That the wealthy have the right to gather wealth at everyone else's expense. All other views he holds are political calculations to support this primary right.

I do agree with you though that we should call this what it is, an attempt to remove rights for women.

But this is what Ryan has legislatively proposed and supported. That's what I meant by the word "believe".

Everything that little weasel has done has come down to that plus fattening the rich.

Any woman who votes for that ticket needs to have a long stay in a hospital talking to nice men in white coats.

They already have spoken and written those words. They need to explain further what they mean because I'm taking them at their word that these words represent their held beliefs.

Well, perhaps, except when she is raped and then murdered, then MAYBE........

Women get raped because they have done something to warrant it or attract trouble. They are more guilty than the "rapist" is.

This is how these people think.

Men have the right to sex with women. They have the right to just take it if they want.

If a woman is unlucky enough to get beat up in the process then it was her fault for asking for it.

I think these guys are just showing their true colors. I don't think it's a religious or moral issue with them at all. It's just pure asshole.
