1. Sounds like trial by ordeal that was practiced against suspected witches

in the Middle Ages: dunk them in the river long enough to drown them and, if they survive, then they must be witches, so they are killed. A very neat and tidy system of justice with no loose ends.

Republicans (all politicians, really) think people should believe anything they say....and a big portion of them do! Remember the WMD shit we were fed? The Iraq connection to 9/11? When they have nothing, they make it up! It's what they do. Say it over and over and they will believe. Sadly, many do.
