CEDAR PARK — Four men were shot outside a Wal-Mart early Sunday after driving there to settle a fight that had started at a nearby party, police said.

One man was released, and three others remained in Williamson County hospitals in critical but stable condition Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

Gietl said the dispute began when a man choked a woman at a nearby party earlier in the evening, and the two sides agreed to fight at the Wal-Mart parking lot. He said he wasn't at the party but went to the parking lot to stop his friends from continuing the fight.
