If we Democrats approve money to the wall,
If we Democrats approve money to the wall, it should be $75,550,000. If you convert that into rubles, it be 5 billion rubles...... that be a sharp statement to trump!

1. No, a sharp statement to trump would be not to put any money into the idiotic wall at all.

2. Ideally
Ideally true, realistically we may have give. Stipulations could be put in for "repairing the border wall and no additional physical barriers". I do agree to strengthen the wall in some metropolitan areas, but what areas that are in no man's land would be ridiculous to construct.

6. I'm curious: Why do you think Democrats have to give Trump anything?
He's the one in the weaker position. This is the time for Speaker Pelosi to flex her political muscles.
Besides, Trump is a dishonest negotiator. We're in this shutdown mess because Trump reneged on the funding bills both Houses had already approved. He owns this shit-show lock, stock and barrel. |

8. We dont
But we do need to fix the wall in the metropolitan areas. It's not his wall, it those communities on the border that need that wall to keep the Mexico cartel violence from entering our American streets. We could ensure that allot funds are spent for those metropolitan areas along the border. Outside the metropolitan areas, nothing!

11. What metropolitan areas? You mean like San Antonio? And what evidence do you have that
the walls that exist in those metropolitan areas a)stop anyone from coming in and b)do anything to keep Mexico cartel violence from entering our streets? Do give us links to where you got those notions.

12. Lol
San Antonio a border town? Lol
I was referring to El Paso, Laredo, Brownsville, Yuma and San Diego. It does stop people in large number to walk across an imaginary line, but it is not 100% efficient. As for B, it will not be 100% effective, but it does increase the odds as being a barrier. Frankly, we all have a major problem we all need to address on the opioid epidemic. |

13. And there is ample evidence out there that opioids aren't coming through illegal border crossings.
They come by air or through legal border checkpoints. And most do not come through the southern border.
The idea of the wall as a block to opioid entry is a right wing myth. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/01/08/white-house-says-border-wall-would-keep-opioids-out-us-it-wouldnt/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.ee37a18dac57 |

14. Never said opioids were coming across the border.
Never said opioids were coming across the border, was stating it is an issue we all must get a grip on. I believe to counteract the drug epidemic, is we must identify, interact, help, right their path the users. Never give hope on someone, for they could be a son, daughter, father, mother, brother, sister or a good friend.
To right their path, we must setup "dry centers" to counteract the withdraws. Opioid can be stolen, produced or over abused. |

9. No money for the wall. Trump shut down the government for no reason whatsoever.
Now he needs to reopen it.
If there was a problem at the border, he could have addressed it during the two years when he controlled the republicans who controlled congress. The country voted in Democrats to stop the insanity. That means, among other things, we give Individual 1 nothing to open the government because he closed it for no reason whatsoever. Any discussions about border security can take place after that. And not include walls. |

4. then Trump will take hostages every time he wants something
unless you're ready to implement the entire Trump agenda, wall money is a non-starter. period. end of story.
Trump would never understand the dig you proposed and by the time the money was approved the exchange rate would have changed anyway. |

17. And yet ... they insisted there was NO money for Obamacare
The ACA would have broken the bank at something like $3 billion.
