Huntsman: Romney Is An Agent Of The Big Banks

http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2012/01/04/397272/huntsman-romney-is-an-agent-of-the-big-banks/

Hoping to make a better showing in New Hampshire than he did in Iowa, GOP contender Jon Huntsman criticized his main competition, Mitt Romney, as a Wall Street shill who will protect the status quo. In an interview with the Huffington Post, Huntsman attacked Romney as beholden to the bankers who have largely funded his campaign. Huntsman has advocated for more limits on the big banks, and said of Romney, “It is the fact that he has raised so much money from the large banks, the banks that need to be right-sized. If you are the largest recipient of funds from Wall Street, and in particular the large banks, you are not going to be inclined to want to change that model.”

It is telling that Huntsman, probably the only legitimate candidate of presidential timber in the entire sorry lot, garners so little support from his fellow Republicans. This is mostly because he chooses his words carefully and does not descend into the nonsensical namecalling and fingerpointing at Obama that has helped defined the Republican party thus far.

Huntsman would be running away with the nomination already. He has the bona fides to be taken seriously and never seems to speak before he thinks. He would be a very formidable candidate.

But he believes in science/climate change and doesn't hate gay people. So in the modern Repuke monkey house, he is presumptively disqualified.

he didn't compete in Iowa. But yes, he does have to do well in NH or he's out of it.

Paul with his deregulating, libertarian (unless it comes to women), is a corporate stooge just like the rest. Of course, Paulian or randian theory would have grandma dying, and all would be slaves to the corporate state. Gotta pull those bootstraps up, who cares if a few million wind up on the streets or die from hunger, it's the randian way.

Wall Street and Boston banks financed the Citizens United-enabled attacks on
Gingrich in Iowa.
These primaries are pure theater.

Next fall, the money power will spend billions in secret PAC money to
install Romney in the White House.

Perhaps it's time to forego these endless, tedious elections and just
let Lloyd Blankfein appoint the President.
