If you do not believe in live and let live you do not believe in freedom.
If you dont believe in allowing to people to worship in the time and place and to the God of their choice you dont want to live in a democracy.
If you dont believe that everyone should have equal access to the same chances you do, you many as well pop off and live in a dictatorship, where the ruling elite control the masses. Unequal access all the way seems marvellous to some.
If you think that a womans place is in the home, breeding and obeying and not in the classroom or the board room, an absolute theocracy might be the way to go. You would feel more comfortable there.
If you think the torture of other to protect you and yours is justified, congratulations, you would fit right into certain states in 1930s Europe.
If you think your race is superior to any other you might want to head off to an Island in the far far away somewhere and start your own all white is all right state. You can have fun being an autocrat in a place few would choose to affiliate themselves with.
You cannot be a person of faith and at the same time applaud the denial of universal human rights to those who do not think or act just like you. A free and just society does not play like that.
You cannot be exceptional when you act contrary to universal human rights. If you choose not to accept that people should have freedom of religion, that the colour of ones skin does not determine ones abilities and that women should have access to equality of opportunity what you are really saying is that theocracy, dictatorship, totalitarianism and oppression are the things that really float your boat.
If you prefer to believe in lies and corruption, rather than facts and logic, because it suits your narrative, then you need a demagogue not a leader.

(22,097 posts)moved to South America etc. to create their own version of utopia. Be mildly curious if they somehow managed to survive...haven't heard of any, so doubtful. I have heard many moved back to the states in the years after the civil war. Don't possible see how any of these regimes ('island') could have possibly survived, with this type of plantation mentality.
