WHAT MUST BE DONE TO ADVANCE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY AGENDA FOR YEARS TO COME.
Without a strong and powerful voice of a new media outlet across American fulfilling the promise of a bright future for all Americans will be hard to do.
CNBC and Bloomberg are created for corporate America. Advancing their interests and supporting their views and being cheerleaders for the stock market. The interest of the small investor is a distant second.
Fox news and its orbit advance the GOP, the right wing and ultra-conservative views and even extreme right anti-immigrant, anti-Semitic, anti-Muslim and anti-people of color, supporting their views with lies, made up facts and fake news all over America, 24/7.
CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, and NBC are owned by big media companies, all believe in fair and balanced reporting and obligated to bring the views of both sides of an issue without interjecting or imposing their own. All worked very well until a con man made it to the WH and his political party abdicated their sworn oath to act as checks and balances on him. Without a strong and continues push back on views that are clear lies and made up facts and without educating the voters in order to make an informed choice between the views it is nearly impossible for the average American to separate truth from lies. There is a great effort by individual hosts who are trying their best to do that, like Como, Rachel, Lawrence, and several others. But media giants are prisoners of ratings and that constrains and controls the narrative.
So who will advance a Democratic Party agenda that help the vast majority of the American people who are desperately in need of a helping hand, not handouts and not more thoughts and prayers. An issue such as health care for all Americans is considered a basic human right among the civilized world, there is nothing anti-American about taking care of Americans, contrary to the views of Bloomberg, Schultz, Erick Trump, and the GOP. The opposite is itself the anti-American stand.
3.5% of Americans are millionaires or billionaires, that means 96.5% of Americans are not, half of which (that’s 125 million Americans) can’t come up with $400 dollars in an emergency.
The primary responsibility of any decent government is taking care of its citizens. Topping that list are defense, security, health, and education as well as fostering a legal system that is fair and equitable for all, not just a few, the rich and powerful. Further, we can’t continue the practice of APPOINTING JUDGES THAT FAVOURS ONE POLITICAL IDEOLOGY OVER ANOTHER. AFTER ALL, JUSTICE SHOULD ALWAYS BE BLIND.
A healthy American population is not socialism unless having clean drinkable water, clean air to breathe, public libraries, public parks, and emergency services, social security, to name a few, can be considered socialism or anti-American and if health care cost will bankrupt America then the rest of the civilized world would have already been bankrupt. That is not the case.
Now tell me if I am wrong in saying we the people should have among the available choices our own platform, our own megaphone, a media outlet to clearly advance American idealism and a democratic party agenda where real debate can take place and real facts can be advanced not an extreme right agenda with alternative reality and lies designed to make voters vote against their own clear interest.
The media has enormous power over shaping public opinion. It is true, as psychology proved over and over, that lies repeated often enough became perceived facts. So unless lies are exposed regularly, consistently and confidently over and over advancing the interest of the majority of Americans is nearly impossible.
I am calling for the formation of a new competitive media company managed by field experts and a strong board of directors. Well-financed by the general public shareholding and traded on the open market with the goal of defending the interest of the majority of Americans through the Democratic Party agenda. The more choices the more protection for our democratic system and institutions. We should expose lies and fake news 24/7 by shining the light of truth all over America particularly in the industrial belt and the bible belt and the south. We can’t stand and watch the extreme right through fox news continue to hijack American minds and hearts through continues lies. If we do not stand up strongly for our intelligence community and the FBI who are doing their best to protect us while being opposed and ridiculed by our own president then our own security will be damaged for years to come.
Many issues and possible solutions need to be consistently articulated and defended on a full-time basis. ISSUES SUCH AS CLIMATE CHANGE, HEALTH CARE, CONSUMER PROTECTION, FAIRER LEGAL SYSTEM AND REAL TAX REFORM, IMMIGRATION, NATIONAL SECURITY, REQUIRING CANDIDATES TO RELEASE THEIR INCOME TAXES AND BE FULLY REQUIRED TO AVOID CONFLICT OF INTEREST, ENHANCING VOTERS PARTICIPATION, INCREASING MINIMUM WAGE TO BE A living wage and BUT TO NAME A FEW will become reality for the good of all Americans not just for the few.
