General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI celebrate Tom Brady and Bill Belichick and the NE Patriots as an Athlete and a Coach
and as a NFL team.
Period.
I'm from NE - who will I root for?
It's a fucking game people - and millions of Americans of every stripe will be watching and partying tonight.
A unique American Experience.
just stop it - enjoy the spectacle.
And hope Maroon 5 trolls the Orange One.
Majorly
Just sayin'

(1,803 posts)Mahomes will have his day, but it wont be while Brady remains in the league. Brady will be back for number 7 before he retires.

(42,641 posts)Brady needs to be deflated a bit.
GO PATS!

Prove it!
All 32 teams were doing that, and I have first hand proof my team was doing the EXACT SAME THING!

(42,641 posts)And deflate-gate remains.
ProfessorGAC
(64,988 posts)First, if the rules were so ill-defined that nearly everyone thought it was OK, it's hardly cheating. Capricious enforcement is an indicator of vague rules
Second, deflate gate was a big pile of nothing.
The gas law makes it TOTALLY clear that those footballs were properly inflated at game start.
The Patriots cannot control the laws of physics.

(102,200 posts)Probably because we've lost so many iconic performers recently, like the great Aretha... especially poignant to see her sing even though it was controversial for her to do so.

(18,837 posts)...that whole "Masshole" phenomenon that people outside of the state have heard about? It's a real thing. I neither enjoyed nor look back fondly on my first 16 years that I spent there. Decades later, I've never gone back for a visit, even though most of my friends and family have.
I don't care for Brady, regardless of his politics. But when you add Trump into the mix, I REALLY don't care for him.
Yeah, it is just a game, and I'd like to see the "Pats" lose.
Won't be watching, but will follow the scores because my girlfriend IS a "Pats"...and Brady...fan.

(2,190 posts)For his inaugural committee https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2017/09/24/how-much-money-nfl-owners-have-donated-donald-trump/698256001/
I bet the majority of players on both teams loathe him. But many team owners support him.
GusBob
(7,286 posts)When they fawn over Trump and support what he had to say about the NFL , the ratings, the protests, telling the owners how to run their business, encouraging boycotts, calling the players soft.... what am I missing
When the players show up to the White House they become traitors to their colleagues and the sport of football
Every player who shows up should turn in their equipment and retire as they are no longer professional athletes who respect the NFL
