After the first round of debates, I would expect more to drop off due to lack of financial backing.

The field will continue to expand and probably won't be narrowed down significantly until Iowa. With the exceptions of those on par with Webb and Chafee, meaning nobody will even notice their departure from the race (e.g., Williamson, Ojeda, Yang).

Harris, Warren, Klobuchar, Gillibrand, Castro and Booker aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Delaney and Gabbard probably won't last long, and Buttigieg may not either. O'Rourke, Inslee and Brown will likely outlast them.

There might be 15+ candidates on the Iowa ballot.
