The White House tweets about plummeting illegal immigration in TUSCON, AZ, because of their wall. (Original Post) Miles Archer Feb 2019 OP
Tucson (which they spelled wrong) is not on the border. It's about 50 miles from the border. The Velveteen Ocelot Feb 2019 #1
It's probably referring to the Tucson sector of the Border Patrol. subterranean Feb 2019 #8

There isn't a wall in or near Tucson.

The other ones in the chart are also names of Border Patrol sectors.

It's interesting that the chart claims illegal immigration in El Paso has plummeted 95% in 22 years, since the "wall" there has only been in place for 10 years.

The percentages are a fabrication too. However, "illegal immigration" has been going down for other reasons. For example, the "23 years" ago they use is when NAFTA was signed, which sparked the growth of many maquiladoras along the border that provided many jobs for Mexican nationals.

1) Maquiladoras predated NAFTA. More Mexican tariffs were reduced than US tariffs by NAFTA because the US had already reduced tariffs after the Mexican debt crisis.

2) border fencing is not in San Diego, it's San Ysidro: not Yuma, it's San Luis, not Tucson but 70 miles south at Nogales.
