(28,928 posts)I would HATE to have it get dark at 7 pm in the summer! Yuck! Much prefer it staying light late into the evening.

(3,013 posts)If you get rid of a twice a year time change, thatll force OR and WA to follow and then we here in BC will probably do it too. So get going!

(9,650 posts)It takes my body three months to adjust to the change each time! Maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but it still drives me crazy.

(14,274 posts)Getting up and going to school in the dark in January was brutal, cold, and depressing. I would never wish that for little kids.

(3,013 posts)I live in BC and in the winter even with the falling back its still pretty dark for a bit. Now that I think about it, if we didnt spring forward it would be light at 3:30am.
I think for those of us living farther north the extremes on either end suck.

Russia solved it by adapting to military time across 12 time zones.
If you have to get up earlier to do business in Europe or
the east coast thats your problem.
I was never more in tune with nature then when I had to follow the high tides. Running barges into shallow Alaskan ports at high tide. Out 12 hours latter.
Now I go home every night, it's going to be dark in the am or PM. Makes no difference standard or daylight.
Traffic is the big influence, none or bumper to bumper.
