Now the alleged victim is saying that she told Congressman Bobby Scott

that Justin Fairfax had a #metoo moment in December 2017- January 2018. So why didn’t he report it? Why wouldn’t he warn everyone so it could be investigated before the election? Oh and according to the article Bobby Scott had his own #metoo moment where he claims he was falsely accused. Perhaps he should consider that Fairfax might also be falsely accused. I understand that it is hard for victims to report sexual assault. However, I don’t think we should automatically assume the guy is always lying. People want him to give up his career based on something he denies. I don’t know how you prove something like that if she did not tell anyone at the time...His recollection against hers...Does someone resign when they don’t agree with her recollection of that day?

As to why he didn't report it? Perhaps he felt that this was a decision she should make?

I would have a major problem with him not telling at least the chair of the party and Fairfax himself privately (even if he kept her name out of it). But he didn't know until after the election at which point I can see him keeping quiet unless she told him not to.

...right before the election. Perhaps that came from Mr. Scott's heads-up?

And your point makes my comment moot.

I will add that in December 2017, Scott himself was facing charges of sexual harassment brought by a client of Jack Burkman (the same lawyer who had a client accusing Mueller of harassing her). These charges were investigated and after multiple changes in the story, the Post declined to pursue it. In today's world, that's as close to exoneration as ya get on this topic.

He may have stayed silent because it was her story to tell or because it was not a timely topic for him in the moment.
