Trumps campaign committee spent more than a million dollars at Trump businesses during the midterm elections, including renting space at the Trump Tower in New York City, according to disclosures filed with the Federal Election Commission.
Throughout 2017 and 2018, Trump hotels in Chicago, Las Vegas, and Washington and golf clubs in Virginia, Los Angeles, Miami and Bedminster, N.J., cashed in as well, as venues for events by political groups large and small. Candidates and political operatives also billed hotel stays to Trumps network of luxury resorts.

(22,112 posts)recover if they don't step up to the plate and stand up straight for their morals and duty to country. They must speak out. They must fight to recover their party from this ridiculous and idiotic so called president. But they haven't and won't. Cowards. They don't deserve any votes from anyone. They clearly shown their loyalties to this country (zero) and to taxpayers (we got screwed big time on taxes) and to their donors (heaps of big money $$$$!).
I'll remember these points next time one of my rabid repug relatives from the Ozarks here in MO attempts to justify their rump votes. What I am truly afraid of (but thank goodness most of them don't have my new phone number) is them calling me all of a sudden for extra money to pay the extra tax bills.
Ha! Serves them right. And, also remember, in some states the amount of deductions are limited by the states' tax code (e.g., fed. deductions=$20000, state limits to $5000).
The loss of deductions such as limits on the amount of taxes you can take, medical deductions, and a smaller personal exemption is going to take another big bite out of peoples' paychecks. Also Congress and the repugs played a little trick on everyone by reducing the amount of taxes taken out per pay period, so it looked like you were getting more money, but in effect, you weren't.
