Was Robert Maheu, an aide to Howard Hughes, responsible for Bobby Kennedys assassination?

Robert A. Maheu was such a colorful character that its widely believed the television show Mission: Impossible was based on him and his private investigative agency.
As an ex-FBI agent, the CIA asked him to handle jobs it wanted to steer clear of, such as lining up prostitutes for a foreign president or hiring the mafia to kill Fidel Castro. For more than 15 years, Maheu and his Washington-based company were on monthly retainer to The Agency, CIA records show. And during much of that time, Maheu was the right-hand man to Howard Hughes as Hughes bought up vast swaths of Las Vegas and helped finance CIA operations.
Now, a new book alleges that Maheu may have performed another mission for the CIA: the assassination of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy (D-N.Y.).

Maheu would have had access to the CIAs experiments in hypnosis and mind control, which were being conducted at the time in California and elsewhere. That would have enabled him to frame Sirhan Sirhan as a patsy for the slaying of Kennedy, while other gunmen actually fired the fatal shots, argues author Lisa Pease, who spent 25 years researching her book, A Lie Too Big to Fail."

(46,301 posts)So is SOOOOOO impossible for a loser who wanted to be a "hero" to the far-left, to shoot JFK?
Or another loser to shoot RFK?
Or yet another to shoot MLK Jr?
Obviously, no.
And all the CREDIBLE evidence says there wasn't any "conspiracies," no Oliver Stone(d) bullshit or this latest "nonfiction" book.

So, when reporters, producers, or amateur historians want to check out the latest JFK conspiracy theory, they call Dave Perry.
"People think I'm an anti-conspiracy guy," Perry said at his Dallas-area home.
But there's one conspiracy theory that he's not ruling out. We'll get to that in a minute.

5. "The CIA did it"
This is the conspiracy theory that interests Perry the most. "The problem is, of all of them, this is one I can't debunk," he laughs.

Even John Wilks Booth didn't act alone.
I don't know about the others but there is plenty of evidence of a conspiracy regarding MLK Jr if not the others.

"By the Illuminati/Jews/CIA/New World Order/whatever."
Speaking of Booth, for decades after Lincoln was killed, conspiracy theorists of that time ranted about all sorts of "TrVe killers of the President!"
But multiple investigations found zero. Nothing.
In the case of JFK and Oswald, there was one conspiracy that has been confirmed, the FBI and CIA botched their surveillance of Oswald, and pleaded ignorance for years.

(29,322 posts)I'm not even saying the CIA is the one responsible. Just that is the theory he can't debunk and the one theory he can debunk is Oswald acted alone.
From the link.
"Remember John Wilkes Booth shot Lincoln and four were hung, including the first woman ever to be hung (by the federal government,) Mary Surratt," he said.
He makes the point Allen Dulles former head of the CIA was on the Warren Commission and it is not unusual for the CIA or FBI to engage in conspiracies with COINTELPRO, Operation Chaos, etc. The Memphis Sanitation Protests were being spied on.
As for evidence I'd have to dig which looks it like he already did the digging. There are so many pieces of information is hard to keep track of it all and keep it in order. I do think JFK was shot with a bolt action rifle from the depository.
I tried looking at all the documents but what little I looked at was more focused on Cuba & the mafia.
