The real face of terrorism in America looks like this...almost always......

The real face of terrorism in America looks like this...almost always. That is not a coincidence. Whiteness (not as in being a person called white, but as in, systemic/ideological whiteness) was built on terror and violence. These folks have learned the culture's lessons well...

But....But....Muslims....

But....But....Immigrants

The article below is a few years old now but it is still relevant today re terror in the US:

America’s domestic terrorists: why there’s no such thing as a “lone wolf”

If terrorism is the murder of civilians in the service of a political ideology, the United States is a nation in the grip of a wave of domestic terrorism. It cannot properly be named as such because its logic draws directly from the political consensus of the popular right. If the killers were not white American men, we would be able to call them what they are—and politicians might be obligated to come up with a response beyond “these things happen.”

These things don’t just “happen”. These things happen with escalating, terrifying frequency, and for a reason. The reason is that America is a nation descending into political chaos, unwilling to confront the violent bigotry at its heart, stoked to frenzy by politicians all too willing to feed the violence if it consolidates their own power. It is a political choice, and it demands a political response.

They're killing us with...

* a constant stream of depressing thoughts and news planted on public and social media,
* divisive and contradictory rhetoric and lies in huge daily volumes,
* implanted fear of our neighbors, the police and guns, and
* actions that destroy anything of common good - such as an effective government.

using....
* billions of right-wing dollars that originate from our own wallets,
* corrupt elected politicians to spread their dogma, and
* moral abuse of their Constitutional rights to free speech.

Some days after reading the news, I feel as if I've been mentally kidnapped.....

Very much psychological warfare. I get so angry over how senseless it is, yet that's the news day in and day out. We could be doing so much better than this.

94% Non-Muslim right wing
4% Muslim
2+ Non-Muslim left wing

Since Islam itself is overall very conservative, we can reasonably assume that most or all of the 4% of domestic Muslim terrorists have also been right wing conservatives. But 94% is definitive.

Never looked up stats on race but, regardless of what other factors might be involved, 76% of Americans being white of course means most domestic terrorists will be white.

5. Ill-natured people

HH he Karmapa explained that “ill-natured people” means those who have a bad character or temperament. “Grim misdeeds” refers to great wrongdoing, very negative karma, or a malicious intent. “Misery” indicates someone experiencing intense suffering. If we encounter such people, what attitude should we have? We can see them as a precious treasure, thinking, “I have found a once in endless lifetimes’ chance to bring this situation onto the path of practice. May I bring them out of their terrible condition and place them on the level of Buddhahood.”

It can be a challenge to be grateful for a treasure trove when there is great pain and suffering involved, but coming to that position, even though it may require some time, is sound.

11. It is the bodddhisattva point of view

I posted the Karmapa's quote because it startled me and profoundly touched my heart.

We so easily fall into hating the haters, thus making ourselves haters too. Hell is not a physical place that you can locate on a map. Hell is a state of mind that is filled with hatred. Hatred is what Hell is all about. Wishing evil and ill and suffering on others. Then going out and committing evil and ill deeds of hatred and vengence. When I look at those three faces, especially the woman, I don't see any joy or happiness.

I am not skillful enough to find the right words to erase the hatred from the minds of the haters, but I am skillful enough not to nurture hatred for them in my own mind. And that, in and of itself, is the right step on the path to enlightenment.

May all sentient beings be free of suffering
and free of the causes and conditions of suffering.
