Conversation in an Inn in Wales (just now)

Visiting where my mother grew up.

Having lunch and told the innkeeper my mom grew up here. He asks where I’m from in the States.

I tell him North Carolina, and he bursts into laughter, “Trump supporter, eh?”

Needless to say, I set him straight.

I’ve been regularly chatting up my British friends regarding their Brexit positions and predictions.

Have fun in Wales! How nice the be where your mom grew up.

But no one I know, friends or relatives in Ireland or Wales are in favor of it.

They are most worried about the possible reintroduction of a hard border in Ireland resulting in a restart of violence. One of my British friends owns homes both here in the US and in Northern Ireland, so he has an interesting and informed perspective on events.

Enjoy your Sunday lunch in Wales!

I bet they’d have a different outcome if they voted on it again.

5. What part of Wales? I've been watching a series called Hinterland. It takes part in Aberystwyth.

Totally in awe with the geography of the countryside. While sometimes bleak, it's gorgeous and fascinating. Also intrigued with the names and language.
