Anyone who calls the party opposite of them "The Democrat Party" are vile in my opinion. It has been the Democratic Party.
Republicans would be up in arms were they referred to as The Repub Party, because they care not one lick for the Republic for which we stand for.
What say you?

The sooner Democratic leaders put an end to this shit, the better.
The fucking media bosses have a duty to tell their hacks to stop it and anyone who says it must be corrected. Bet if the Democratic Party paid them with checks marked Democrat when the account had Democratic, they would put an end to this absolute fuckery!

(19,972 posts)I first saw that in the early days of online forums and suspect it took off from there. That's probably what many of them are thinking when they use it that way--even on the floor of the U.S. House. There is probably a case for "breach of decorum" due to pejorative usage; I don't know why it hasn't been tested.
I would probably inform them that the word "Democrat" is not an adjective, and if they had passed elementary school English they would know that and wouldn't continue openly demonstrating their ignorance by using it improperly as an adjective.

(16,783 posts)That Democrat is NOT an adjective, but an object when used in a sentence. That Democratic Party was the correct term. And that using it as an adjective is demeaning. No response yet from the person I had to correct.
