... Americans say 45 percent to 43 percent that Mueller has not proven that members of Trumps 2016 campaign lied about their contacts with Russians, despite the fact that both Michael Cohen and Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to exactly that ...
Fully 75 percent of Republicans say such lies have not been proven, although they have been, legally speaking ...
Americans are also confused about whether Mueller has proven collusion or obstruction of justice by Trump ... But that leaves 34 percent and 28 percent, respectively,.. believe Mueller has proven those things. And heres the thing: He hasnt even alleged them yet ...
Its possible that once Mueller issues his report, all this confusion will suddenly disappear ...
But the truth seems much more likely to reside somewhere in the murky middle ...

(6,232 posts)These polls are baloney. People are just guessing. The report isn't out yet, and Mueller is doing exactly the correct thing by keeping it close to the vest.
When it comes out, we'll know. If it's released.

(58,785 posts)It won't play out just like Nixon because the crimes are dfifferent and today's Republicans are scary-ready to overthrow our constitutional republic to keep and grow power.
But Nixon, who had had low approval -- too moderate and progressive to appeal to the trumpsters of those days, was strongly defended by them once in trouble, and they reelected him by a very high margin in the middle of the investigation. In that respect, this is Watergate redux.

(26,060 posts)polls are especially worthless. Trash this thread.

(2,275 posts)GIVEN that this poll shows that Trump/Russian psychological attacks on US citizens are making a large dent in their reasoning abilities:
One prominent Dem per week should take a turn REPEATING the facts going back two years that substantiate Russian collusion/conspiracies, obstruction of justice and money laundering. They must also repeatedly point out which weekly nonsense is a diversion.
Repetition of lies MUST be met with repetition of truth.
Seriously. That's what we do with useful sociological data to save our country. We're under massive psy-ops attack.

When a report is issued, much 'confusion' will disappear.

(23,944 posts)all people have to go on so far is a handful of convictions and Trump & friends repeatedly denying it, over and over and over again. if it weren't for those convictions and such evidence as has already gone public, my guess is it would be more like 30-70 than 43-45.
it's still much too soon to say anything definitive, but i'm sure Trump will tout this polling saying shit like, "Americans overwhelmingly know I've been exonerated," and so on, and his base will love it. makes me wonder if Trump is paying for the polls himself.

(82,849 posts)Considering there has been no public report issued by the Special Counsel, the fact that 43% of respondents already believe the Trump campaign was in cahoots with the Russians is a good starting point. When the report and its supporting evidence come out, that 43% is going to grow substantially. This poll is just click-bait, and intended to provide Trump's supporters with solace against all evidence to the contrary.

(51,584 posts)I wrote to the Education Dept of my state year in and year out asking for Civics before High School grades. I taught it to my First Graders through "sneak teaching". That is what we teachers have to do now. If you are caught by an administrator teaching anything that isn't allowed during a block schedule for certain subject you get into trouble. Reading, Writing and Math and test prep and NOTHING else except "teach to the test" all day, every day. Kids have to start young but at their level and it does work!

(1,584 posts)There is an arsenal of bad deeds and corrupt practices to defraud the US government out there against Trump and all his administration. They refuse to highlight any of this and just keep on and on about "no collusion" and now "no direct evidence."
There wasn't any direct evidence against Hillary either but that didn't stop the GOP from two years of Benghazi and e-mails.
