A no-win situation.
Pelosi will force a vote in both houses (which is possible under the emergencies act) to make every Repub go on record as either supporting government overreach or opposing Trump, both of which will leave them vulnerable to primaries.
If the courts strike the declaration down, it will make the overreach support even more of a vulnerability, and humiliate and disgrace the motherfucker.
If the courts should sustain the declaration, the next Democratic President will immediately declare emergencies over climate change and gun violence. (Which would be appropriate, since they are in fact emergencies -- it almost makes me hope this happens!)
And thanks to McConnell, the motherfucker can't even back out from an emergency declaration without the deplorables calling for blood. He's committed.
There's no way to win. Because this is what happens when you create a social climate for the proliferation of motherfuckers.
And I'm sitting at home and laughing tonight, laughing as I haven't laughed in two years.

They do not care *now* about what we might do if and when we ever regain power. They will cheat to prevent that and change the rules if we somehow succeed.
