The RW sphere has gone berserk saying Pelosi has stuffed the CR with Booby Traps.
One provision above all has got them barking. Local councils can veto fencing in their areas.
Smoke or Fire? He hasnt signed.
(Veto apparently means negotiate on deployment for up to six months, with an appeals process? following if theres no resolution)

(14,906 posts)At least if he holds to the "rule," which he operated by last time, of not going there while a shutdown is underway. Even FOXNews would crush him for the optics of golfing at a tropical country club while federal employees are working without pay or furloughed.
In the first shutdown, GOP messaging was all framed as "The Dems need to make a deal with Trump." Notice how this time around the GOPers in Congress were the ones publicly identified as doing the negotiating with the Dems. Why? Because the WH realized they weren't going to "win" and wanted to distance Trump from the final deal. All of a sudden the WH is acting like this is purely Congress's bill, and it's hardly got anything to do with Trump -- it's not his fault the bill sucks so bad, that failure is someone else's.
Trump will gripe and pout, but ultimately he'll sign the bill, I think.

Republican support was collapsing (compared to the Senate) The lunatics are out there saying the CR will kill America. Another what? 10 and a veto stands.

(8,616 posts)Pick your poison. I suspect the Rethugs dont want another shutdown wrapped around their necks. That would be worse than voting for the CR.

(11,885 posts)Against Nancy and the Democrats to use to demonize them with like he's done to others, and all based on more lies and distortions. HE's intentionally making it all about himself, and how he doing things for his base, when the truth is he's not, and is just lying again to them, and trying to distract more away from Russia and Putin issues . He knows he's illegitimate, and scared they know it too.

(42,598 posts)Once he decided to issue the emergency declaration, it was a given that he'd sign the legislation. Hell, he even describes it as a big legislative win. The Coulter crowd has overplayed their hand which is why he's dissing them.
