If DHS could only learn to express the threat of caravans in terms of Categories, they might get people here in Florida more interested.... "This is Wolf Blitzer, in the eye of a Category 4 caravan here in Nogales..." See -- it's more worrisome, already....

Been practicing the duck and cover technique we learned back in the Cold War days. Had to go out and buy a desk to cower under, but it should protect me during the emergency.

The safest place to be during The Emergency is a golf course. That's why Donald went to one so quickly. One never sees a caravan of immigrants at the 7th tee, after all.

I was caught up in a scary angry crowd. Of course that was because the Gonzaga women's basketball team had just lost a squeaker to BYU. @ZagWBB @byuwbb

(16,356 posts)I only have one taco truck close by, although it is a GREAT one, lines down the sidewalk, usually; it could still use some competition. I demand at least one more on my block!

(33,041 posts)Don't waste space on luxury items. This could be a loooonnng emergency. Stockpile the essentials for living -- whiskey, toilet paper, condoms, seed corn.
Be generous with your thoughts and prayers for the people who will have to wade into the maelstrom to clear the land, dig the footers, pour the concrete, and string the wire. There may not be enough porta-potties for all.
