Most congress and senators complain that they spend HALF their time in Washington just begging for money to get re elected. Getting a bucket load of cash would relieve a great weight off of them.. Problem now is the donor, in this case Russia has leverage over them..ie
KOMPROMAT!!! That's why he is so Russia/tRump/pUtin friendly... uggh..

that from the farthest SW point in Ky to the nearest point where you could cross the border into Mexico is more than 1,000 miles. Not sure why the wall would be better for Ky school children than actually having a school.

He was so over the top on the Sunday morning news shows today - wanting to investigate the investigators. Sounds like the walls may be closing in on him.

Maybe he held out for a higher payoff than many...so, kudos, I guess? Also he seems an honest politician: he stays paid for.

From the PDF :

Lastly, the report notes that Sen. Graham received illegal campaign donations from a Chinese-American virologist.

The person who arranged the illegal campaign donations scheme was a biotech company CEO named Dr. Jian-Yun Dong aka Dr. John Dong and his wife Dahner Wang. Eventually, Dong was convicted for arranging illegal foreign campaign contributions to Graham and was sentenced to 18 months in jail for that charge. He received an additional 70-month federal jail sentence in his second trial on federal corruption charges, for converting research funds into a lobbying slush fund and a source of funds for real estate improvements.

Sen. Graham helped Dr. Dong obtain earmarks totaling $19.6 million in federal grants from NIH and the military. His wife Wang turned on him, cooperating with prosecutors and leading to the scientist’s conviction and imprisonment.

Lindsey Graham was not charged in the criminal case against Dr. Dong, because prosecutors “found no evidence” he knew of multiple illegal schemes by his political donor.

then the assistance of money to keep an asset in power. Heavens know our own kleptocratic billionaires will donate all the money he could need as long as he continues to serve them.

It makes sense given the corruption of so many of these people and his truly aberrant behaviors. He's one of a number of nationally known people of power and/or influence whose friends don't recognize them. (Jonathan Turley's another who was just bizarrely arguing that Trump should win his case for authoritarian power grabs in SCOTUS.) Guessing there are plenty of others whose names aren't well known.

Wouldn't have to be Russia jerking their bits, either, though the same and/or different "dirt" might be held by enemies foreign and domestic.

Add to that, of course, the power of those who want to keep power to persuade themselves it's only right that they do.
