General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI just watched McCabe's 60 Minutes interview.
There's no way he would have given that much detail, especially about Rosenstein, without clearing it with Mueller.
I'm wondering why now. It's likely Rosenstein will be fired. They had to know the interview would enfuriate Trump and cause him to lash out.
Are we close to the end game?

I just saw bits and pieces of the interview but did anyone else get an uh-oh feeling when the interviewer said ( paraphrase) " So the acting attny general was out to get the president one way or another?"
from what I watched seemed Andys answers were a little guarded after that. I guess I just need to watch the whole thing..

(2,199 posts)Scott Pelley explained that Mueller would pick McCabe to brief heads of state and others on very complicated information. McCabe is good at being concise and easy to understand. Can't imagine he would act independently.

(1,376 posts)Anyone in government service with a security clearance has obligations regarding their work, even after leaving government service; written works that describe one's past government service are routinely subject to review, especially with regards to those having been in military, law enforcement, R&D, or intelligence positions.
McCabe was the senior deputy and then the acting head of the FBI, which has both law enforcement and intelligence/counterintelligence responsibilities in the US. What he wrote was certainly reviewed.

(4,999 posts)Rosenstein, McCabe, FBI and Mueller have got a very big fish on the line, and they are getting it close to the boat. I'd just say that Fish #1 thrashes more as it gets closer to the boat, and tactics are being employed to guarantee it doesn't slip away. Notice that the FBI's letter to 60 minutes, while appearing to discredit McCabe, didn't actually say anything that contradicted anything specific, or important. So Trump thinks the FBI is on his side now...
