(CNN) Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is expected to leave the Justice Department in mid-March, according to a Justice Department official who spoke to CNN Monday.

The official disputed the idea that the timing of Rosenstein's departure has anything to do with the latest revelations from former acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, emphasizing that the plan was always that Rosenstein would help with the transition for his successor and then leave.

CNN has previously reported that Rosenstein was planning to leave his post after Barr was confirmed.

The new deputy attorney general could be announced as early as this week. As CNN has reported, Attorney General Bill Barr has selected Jeffrey Rosen as his deputy.

My question is....

Will he indict Trumps offspring, Kushner, etc.? Or will he publish a damning report of them and let the shit hit the fan, bigly. Thus far he hasn't hit anyone IN the administration currently. But worked around it.

Having them all dragged in in public Congressional Hearings could be a lot more damaging than a court room...and they still have to worry about the court room later.

And I don't think this is done by a long shot. Mueller might be finishing up, but there may be subsequent investigations on several loose ends for awhile. Mueller could be just focusing primarily on the inner circle, in other words, not doing a Ken Starr move and looking for something in everything.

If Donald Trump says, "No, I want him gone immediately," that will tell us if Barr is beholden to Donald Trump, or if he is solely in charge of the investigation?

There is value in this announcement.
