It's simple really, corporations want access to the entire EU's market, Great Britain no longer gives that access. Hopefully these latest hits are the shock that wakes British leaders up. Brexit is a huge leap backwards while the rest of the EU moves forward on trade.
Brexit was an idea born among White Supremacy groups and pushed by the Russians. That alone should allow the Brits to change their collective minds and reject it.

(11,830 posts)but from what I understand, Theresa May is not going to allow another referendum. It's something I try and follow, but it's hard for me to keep the players and politics (and how the politics work) clear.

(101,294 posts)A lot of comment from voters these days it "oh god, I just want it to be over", and a new referendum would mean the maximum amount of marketing, debates, advertising, trying to work out what's lies, and so on. What worries me is that the hardline 'no deal' Brexiteers take that as encouragement for ignoring the deal May did with the EU, and will just try to stop anything happening until March 29th when the 'no deal' Brexit happens because that date was the last thing that managed to get through parliament with a majority.

(1,773 posts)A wrecked economy and uncertain future.
The choices are clear: Diverse and rich or tribal and poor. Being a part of the larger world or being isolated. Welcoming the future or dreading its arrival. Which will we ultimately choose, I wonder?

(19,005 posts)And it's compounded by the reality of a fragile EU. The EU cannot let Great Britain leave the EU without punitive measures. The EU has incentive to make Great Britain suffer as much as possible to act as a deterrent to other countries who may have been thinking about leaving the EU. It's going to be worse than the worst predictions.
The Brits are stuck, their people feel a Democratic duty to follow through on the vote even though most now don't want it and they know the entire country is going to be damaged from it.
