9. I proudly stated to a few Trumpers that I am a Socialist

They looked at me bewildered...I stated it again. I told them that just like Germany. They again looked at me bewildered and declared that Germany isn’t socialist and told them “Oh yes it is”.

They were confused. I discussed with them how programs like social security, Medicare etc are “socialist”. Their answer was “but we pay for those programs”. I explained that so do the Germans - they also pay for their programs. But I also explained how in Germany the difference is how those programs (and healthcare) mean people have care, are able to have free college tuition, get assistance and a living wage so that they aren’t living paycheck to paycheck and can end up homeless. That they have good public transportation.

Own the word socialist and socialism. Explain and educate Americans what socialism is and that things they actually like and countries they admire - are socialist.
