This poll was only open to Political Wire members.

Our latest straw poll finds 54% of Political Wire members think that Kamala Harris will win the Democratic nomination for president in 2020, followed by Joe Biden at 24% and Beto O’Rourke at 7%.

No other candidate gets more than 4%.

However, when it comes to personal preferences for who members want to win, the race looks a little more competitive. Harris leads with 26%, followed by O’Rourke at 15%, Biden at 14%, Amy Klobuchar at 13%, Sherrod Brown at 10% and Elizabeth Warren at 9%.

No other candidate gets more than 3%.

1. the media seems to like Harris best

but the poll is very interesting. Particularly in regard to the numbers for folks who haven't even officially entered the race. ???

3. This is not a rigorous scientific poll by any means

The Political Wire members tend to be center left pragmatists. Only PW members got to vote in this poll so the sample is seriously biased.

2. Realclearpolitics Democratic Primary Poll show Biden in the lead followed by Sanders, folliwed by

Harris.

Poll date 1/15 - 2/16. I would expect a bump after Sanders brings up his campaign.
