Bernie Sanders aiming to take on both President Trump and the Democratic establishment

It’s official. The Bern is in.

Ending a lengthy period of deliberation, Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who won over 1,800 delegates and captured 43 percent of the Democratic Party vote in 2016, announced his candidacy in an email to supporters this morning.

“Brothers and Sisters,” Sanders writes. “I have decided to run for president of the United States.”

Sanders goes on to promise “an unprecedented and historic grassroots campaign” that will “begin with at least a million people from across the country.”

The 1960s called. They want their rhetoric back.

Run as a Democrat, according to his fans here, yet "take the Democratic establishment" on also. Kind of makes one wonder how he can "claim" to be a Democrat, again, and get away with it.

These types of movements have charismatic preacher/televangelists who promise members of the flock that if they make regular love-offerings then wealth will in turn rain on them in excess of a thousand-fold.

Interesting stuff.

...it's his tone-deaf disregard for identity politics. His habit of sticking his foot in his mouth with regard to issues of race and sex.

Add to that his bashing of the Democratic Party and it's a wonder that anyone can think he has any chance of getting nominated. That's a level of delusion money can't buy.

And the ACLU has been a key player in the resistence to Trump administration abuses.

Oligarch in an email puts $5 in the account.
Revolution gets $10.
Attacking the Democratic Party opens the wallets even further.

Since nobody has answered this in four years, Bernie Sanders has been a pol all his life and he's been in the senate for two decades... Why isn't he the very definition of an "establishment" politician?

Have you ever heard Bernie give introspective criticism of himself? I have not seen his do that once. He is somewhat like Trump, he loves the spotlight.
