When I refreshed GD all I had was a thread about the moon being bombed from 6 (10. It was ten) years ago

but if you type "Moon Bombing" in the search bar above you will get several results.

The one I remember specifically was where a member (who I understand has since passed away) was ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED that some "corporate bastards" were going to harvest the water on the moon, bring it back to earth and sell it to us rubes.

I shit you not.

Trying to convince this person that bringing water back from a planet 250,000 miles away to another planet virtually covered in the stuff was just not feasible was an exercise in futility. She was having none of it. She was just convinced that some nefarious group of executives of some horrible multi-nationals woke up, rubbed their hands together with glee and began plotting how to sell bottled moon water to humans.

The ensuing sub-thread was absolutely hilarious, with one poster making up a "Mission Statement" from Coca Cola which said shit like;

1) We endeavor to be a world partner in promoting sustainable processes in production and distribution of our products as well as flying to the moon and stealing all the fucking water.

2) Encourage efficiency in the workplace in all aspects of our business. We will land our spaceship on the moon close to the water we are going to fucking steal so we don't have to walk too far.

Etc. etc. It was just epic, to say the least.
