This child's parents need their rear ends kicked. What would a 7 year old even know of or care

about Trump's stupid wall?????

Austin boy sets up hot chocolate stand to raise money for border wall

AUSTIN, Texas --
An Austin boy has raised more than $5,000 from selling hot chocolate dedicated to funds to build a border wall along the southern U.S. border.

On Saturday, Benton Stevens and his dad Shane posted video on Facebook showcasing the hot chocolate stand in front of a shopping complex, selling for $2 a cup. A sign in front of the boy's stand said "proceeds help Trump build the wall."

For an extra 50 cents, Benton also offered large "Nancy Pelosi" marshmallows to melt. Smaller "Beto O'Rourke" marshmallows were also offered at no extra charge.

After sales over the weekend, Benton's dad posted Monday that the boy raised more than $2,200 through a Venmo account. By Tuesday, the dad reported the account totaled almost $5,000.

That was perhaps the parents' angle, not the child. To be used in that manner is also offensive.

The parents should have been the ones to have the Hot Chocolate stand, not use their child's for their political purposes.

Poor little guy had never cut a lawn before.

You always overlap on your cuts in order to get all the grass and not leave strips standing.
Not the kid's fault but his right wing dad and his GOP connections to set up a photo op.

BTW $5,000 in @ $2.00 per cup equals 2,500 cups served.

Call me cynical, but this reeks of an attempt to get internet famous. Freakin' grifters.

Of course, he’s a Democrat!

We’ve marched for the ACA, worked with Obama for America on the ACA issue, protested Trump on election night 2016, protested attempts to shut down Mueller and joined in the local March for Our Lives against gun violence. We live in a blue town in the midst of a sea of red here in Georgia. Activists and activism are important in our community.

My wife and I adopted three black children. During the Trayvon Martin case, we staged a picture of our then six-year old son in a hoodie with a mean look on his face and put it on social media. In an extreme close-up, he looked strangely intimidating.

He really didn't have a vote in what we were doing so maybe that was wrong. You tell me.

The money can't go towards the wall. My guess is the dad will get a new truck and confederate flag. The kid will get a new lego set so he can build a wall himself.

According to the Treasury Department, money donated to the government goes to a fund called "Gifts to the United States," for "general use by the federal government." The department's website says the account "was established in 1843 to accept gifts, such as bequests, from individuals wishing to express their patriotism to the United States."

Donating the money directly to the Department of Homeland Security would require approval from Congress, as laid out in a policy directive in 2008. It cites a law that says "gifts or donations of services or property of or for the Department may not be accepted, used, or disposed of unless specifically permitted in advance" by Congress.

other than the one stated is surely against the law. Never mind a permit or some other formal recognition of their cause.

Damn.

'Cause if abc7 news was hoping I'd be impressed by a young child selling hate by the cup they have another think coming.

What that child is doing in no way compares to a young child raising funds to actually help people.

Sad. Sick. Tiresome.

On a makeshift kiddie stand in any neighborhood just over a weekend.

Then I’d wonder why a Dem kid was so full of hate.

Wasn't the problem with the "Go Fund Me" wall account that the federal government cannot accept such donations from individuals?
