Of course, some such as Bush, posed for photo ops but did not actually serve.

Ron Paul apparently served as a flight surgeon in the Air Force from 1963 to 1965 and then in the Air National Guard from 1965 to 1968.

& him being compelled to respond about his deferments,
in detail. Maybe something like:

"I secured those deferments, all legal by the way, due to the fact
that I was faithful to God's Plan For Me that did not have me going
to Vietnam in order to avoid jeopardizing that Plan that I one day be
President of these wonderful but gravely endangered United States."

which we used to prosecute the Japanese with during WWII.

Gingrich actually said because we have used it in training our own troops; who did it voluntarily that simulated drowning doesn't constitute torture making no distinction between that and forcing it on a prisoner or POW.

With that kind of logic I don't believe Gingrich could tell the difference between making love and rape.
