LAtelier des Lumieres is projecting digitized, multilayered versions of some of the artists most famous works, including Starry Night Over the Rhone and Churchyard in the Rain, onto its floor and walls
Conveying at different stages the illusion of water rippling in the light and raindrops falling, the show is accompanied by a rich soundtrack.
Obviously, we have The Starry Night, we have the sunflowers, we have the irises, gallery director Michael Couzigou told Reuters TV.
The idea here is to propose something thats different from classic museums. Its to allow the visitors to really get inside the paintings.

(3,287 posts)I'm retired and really have no need for a smartphone but who knows. My son is really into VR and I am seriously looking into getting on board. I tried his and it is indeed immersive. It really is fantastic technology. I love the travel videos in 4K on YouTube. When a catalog of travel videos in VR is available, that would be really cool.

(16,817 posts)That type of immersive experience must be incredible, because it captures my own emotions with Van Gogh's work

I have been meaning to watch this for quite some time:
The film brings the paintings of Vincent van Gogh to life to tell his remarkable story. Every one of the 65,000 frames of the film is an oil-painting hand-painted by 125 professional oil-painters who travelled from all across the world to the Loving Vincent studios in Poland and Greece to be a part of the production. As remarkable as Vincents brilliant paintings, is his passionate and ill-fated life, and mysterious death.
