After Manafort is sentenced he still has the right to tell all to get his sentence reduced.

If he is given a life sentence and also realizes a pardon will not save him from state charges, he may decide his best option is to give up Trump and Russia.

You never know. Anything is possible in this crazy nightmare we are living.

Anything he says at this point is toxic, and couldn't/wouldn't be used by prosecutors unless there is physical evidence to back it up (recordings, documents, etc).

So he can spill his guts with 100% honesty and prosecutors wouldn't use it. Even the house wouldn't use it in impeachment hearings because it could sabotage their case. After all, he could just recant it during the hearing. What does he have to lose?

So why give him a minute of reduction in exchange for it? That ship is gone. Make him an example to others.

if he has a stash of incriminating evidence ... that's different

We may find out fairly soon because he probably is giving Trump X number of days after sentencing to spring him so the clock doesn't run out on the year.

That could blow up if there is evidence of Trump offering pardons via the lawyers.

coordinated agreement that would prevent him from federal and state incarceration and then go into witness protection to hide from Putin, who would like to have him thrown out of an airplane.

Without that he's toast in any direction he turns.
