(18,770 posts)...to expect 60+ mph winds in the Finger Lakes (NY).
But climate change is still being discussed as a yes/no thing? I was born here almost 54 yrs ago. THIS IS NOT NORMAL!

(28,270 posts)It was funny living there because it really didn't feel like "Florida", more like southern Georgia lol
Loved to go to St George island, Destin and Panama Beach.

(23,097 posts)That's one of my husbands' favorite songs & I really like it too. Love their music! My faves are Mississippi and Walking in Circles.

(16,063 posts)As a native Floridian, that song hits home hard.

(16,063 posts)I saw them play with the Jacksonville Sympathy years ago and this song was amazing with the strings.

(16,166 posts)83 degrees and windy. Sun is shining and if you to get some melanoma it's available.
the thing I pay attention to is water temp. Right off the Pinellas county shoreline the GOM is 70 degrees when it should be 58 to 64.
What do they say about warm water and storms?
This year is going to be a nutcracker.

(35,327 posts)this year $213. So far we had two snow falls about 2" each. I fly out of Pittsburgh Wednesday morning and arrive at St. Pete airport
at 10:15. I see it is going to cool down to the 70s next week I think I can handle it. Looking forward to riding the Pinellas Trail from Clearwater to Tarpon Springs on e day. Love the Greek food at the sponge docks in Tarpon Springs..

(54,365 posts)Normally I'm glad when I get the weekend off, but today I had to run down to Catalunya (Barcelona to be exact) for work for the day, and it was a sunny 21° C, or about 70° F.
Sometimes I love my job!
I just got home (after 11 PM here), since the normal evening flight home from Barcelona doesn't run on Saturdays, and I had to fly over to Madrid to get a flight back to Düsseldorf.

(54,365 posts)Barcelona and Grenada are the must-see cities. Everything else is optional!
I first set foot there when I was 16, and that was 1968. I went back at irregular intervals through about 1980, but my work started taking me elsewhere, and there was an 18 year gap when I hadn't been there at all. But Barcelona is eternal, despite the changes. When I was 16, I lived there for a year, and learned to speak Catalan. Once you can do that, the place is home to anyone who is there, no matter how long you've been away. The Moorish architecture in Grenada (Alhambra, Generalife) are so spectacular and well-preserved, they must be seen as well (the mosque at Córdoba is worth a visit, too, as long as you're in the neighborhood).

(21,675 posts)I always thought this was high season down there this time of the year...with the accompanying warm weather. guess not, huh?

(24,367 posts)But we, like most of the country (and I suppose the rest of the planet as well) have had some really wild and unusual temp swings this year. The OP is 150 miles west of me. My Weather app says 71 degrees right now (6:20 PM Eastern)
I've gone from needing the heat to the AC repeatedly over the last 6 weeks. I don't think I have gone more than a couple days in a row where it was comfortable all night and all day to just leave the AC unit off completely.

(16,063 posts)I grow fall tomatoes and pick them till the first freeze. We had our first one in 4 years last month.
This is North Florida. It does get cold here.
