I've seen some here try to equate the two, but they are not equivalent.
The drug trade traffics in an inanimate product. The product in prostitution are human beings.
No comparison.

Yes, there are downstream impacts on humans beyond the drug user, but it is a fundamentald difference that in a drug deal, the user is buying an inanimate object, as opposed to a human being.

Comparing the drug trade to prostitution leaves out a critical element - the humanity of the women who are the product.
Supplier: drug dealer =pimp/trafficker OK
Consumer: drug usef = john OK
Product: drugs ≠ female human beings

(2,331 posts)Two people capable of consent making a business arrangement is not slavery.
How legally you split the hairs over whether someone is in a position to make informed consent in exchange for money is an undertaking I would not want to be involved in with the legislature.
Robert Kraft's girlfriend is close to 40 years younger than he is. Love is an amazing thing but I'm assuming they have a business arrangement.

(118,040 posts)Girls take drugs to get over what they are doing to their souls by selling themselves. Drugs can kill. It is all a vicious relationship. I've seen young girls dress up to visit their man in prison...like he is a celebrity. It is a cult on top of drugs on top of prostitution.

She called it "soul theft."
